We are a 12,000 member organization that welcomes all retired professional educators as well as active educators and other school personnel.

We are the ONLY professional organization in the state whose primary purpose is to represent retired educators.

We are affiliated with the National Retired Teachers Association (NRTA) , which is a division of the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP)   (You may use the underlined hyperlinks to visit their web sites).

FREA is comprised of 67 local units who work and interact with educational colleagues in their communities.

Several district training workshops and local unit meetings are held each year.

The Florida Retired Educators Foundation was established to provide scholarships for future teachers and to assist in financial crisis of members.

FREA holds an Annual Assembly and Convention in the spring of each year.

FREA Sponsors Florida Retired Educators Day which is celebrated the third Sunday in November each year.

FREA is served by a committed board of directors, active committees working on pertinent issues, and a dedicated full time staff.
